Planet of the Apes

Since 1975, when speaking in the West, particularly in France, the failure of Americans in Indochina, it is customary to bring the name to those of Cambodia Laos and South Vietnam. However, it should be stressed, Americans have never had any combat forces on our territory Khmer. Their only last minute intervention was to give our military a little help in equipment and ammunition after the abandonment of our ins-facturers French.

The attitude of the United States of America vis-à-vis the south-east Asia due to the opposition of their two main political parties: Republican and Democrat. The Republicans chose their men in Indochina: Prince Souvanna Phouma to Laos, General Corps Nguyen Van Thieu in South Vietnam and Prince Sisowath Lieutenant General Sirik Matak for Cambodia. This will give way to General Lon Nol army corps which became Marshal. U.S. Democrats, they have preferred to Cambodia Prince Sihanouk, who has always been close to their Party and has maintained a consistently close relationship with U.S. Senator Michael Joseph Mansfield (the strong man of the Senate U.S.) and Senator William Fulbrieght.

Once at the head of his FUNC Beijing, Sihanouk has been working through the U.S. Senator Michael Joseph Mansfield, in particular, to pressure the Senate and House of Representatives that the United States refuse to help the Republican regime in Phnom Penh. This meant, to hear that his communist Khmer Rouge army and establish a regime claimed human, national, popular and not corrupt (1975-79). We know what it was. Sihanouk called the Republican plan non-communist Phnom Penh-fascist, anti-nationalist, anti-people and corrupt. Similarly Sihanouk later said to Senator Mansfield that there was no assault Vietcong and North Vietnamese in Cambodia.

Failure is not the Republicans but Democrats U.S.. Even under President Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford, Chambers had a strong Democratic majority. The Republican administration was in fact performing as their willingness and initiative-hole VAIT limited by the parliamentary opposition. She was able to complete the Paris conference before the election of Carter's arrival it marked the end of support enjoyed by my non-communist regimes in Indochina. President Nguyen Van Thieu and Marshal Lon No1 could pack their suitcases to make way for VC / NVN / AC on the one hand, the Red Army of Sihanouk, on the other.
